There are several options for medical care outside of our 8:30am to 5:30pm opening hours.
We will run a short Saturday morning clinic at Kendal Medical Centre throughout winter, from 9am to 12pm. This will start on Saturday 6 June 2026 and depending on demand, will likely continue until early September. Our fees for Saturday morning services are posted on our fees page.
Kendal Medical Centre contributes to the roster at the Pegasus 24 Hour Clinic on Bealey Avenue. It is our preferred after hours service when we are closed as we believe a face to face assessment is almost always more thorough and safer than a video or phone consultation.
If you would prefer to be seen after hours in the comfort of your own home and are confident that is a safe way to assess your symptoms we offer a virtual after-hours consultation service for our patients. This is run by NZ registered general practitioners and known as “Practice Plus“. They will keep us informed and send us details of their consultation with you.
The service operates Weekdays 5-10pm and weekends 8am to 8pm.
There is the option to wait in line for the first available doctor, or to book a specific time slot (the cost is the same)
The current pricing for the virtual consultation is on their website.
On booking virtual appointments, you will be asked to enter your credit or debit card details, however your card will not be charged until your appointment is completed.
If you would like to know more about Practice Plus and how it works, please check out their website. There is a short video that explains how Practice Plus works https://practiceplus.nz/
There is also a frequently answered questions page.
